Console history

Sega 32X with Mega Drive
The machine

The 32X is Sega's 32-bit add-on for the Mega Drive. Released in 1994, it was meant to extend the console's life before Saturn, but its timing placed it in an impossible position.

Its library is short, strongly tied to Sega arcade conversions and a handful of technical curiosities. Today it is a compact fullset that captures a chaotic transition period.

Collection

Start collecting

  • Check cables and spacer parts: complete hardware matters as much as games.
  • The fullset is small, so rare titles quickly drive the budget.
  • Start with Virtua Racing Deluxe, Star Wars Arcade and Knuckles' Chaotix.
