The Atari 5200 launched in 1982 as a successor to the 2600 with architecture close to Atari's 8-bit computers. It offered strong arcade conversions but suffered from fragile controllers and confusing compatibility.

Its short catalogue makes it compact by volume, but complete-condition collecting can be harder.
